Social Media Mastery - How can you go Viral on Social Media? - Episode 16

Episode 16. I hope you are swell!

As another week passes, I have generated millions more views on social media. But how on Earth do I do this?

Well today, we will be looking at:

How can I go Viral on Social Media Platforms regularly?

This question comes up all the time. In my comments, in meetings or presentations I am giving. Literally daily.

However, I believe there is one main way to answer this:

The way you can go viral is by continuously posting social media content.

Sounds simple right? It’s because it is.

The way to go viral on a regular basis is just by making lots of content, finding out what doesn’t work, and then slightly amending your content until it does work.

That is literally it.

Do it that on a long enough time horizon, and you will gain social media virality.

I will also recommend some other steps you can take, but what I will say is, they will not do a thing unless you do the above.

But here they are:

  1. Focus on the Hook. I once heard Alex Hormozi say that he puts 95% of the effort of a piece of content into the hook / the first 5 seconds (if it’s a video). I totally agree with this. Pull people in with the first 5 seconds, and then they will stay as long as you are doing number 2.

  2. Utilise Storytelling. Get people in with the hook, keep them with a story. Be engaging, compelling and take people on a journey.

  3. Use Visual Hooks. The content that is being spoken must be engaging, but so must the imagery to pair with it. People won’t be as engaged if what they are seeing isn’t enticing.

  4. Keep Concise. The art of waffling, whilst fine in day to day use, will lose people’s attention very quickly. My background is short form content, and if you waffle, you will no longer have any viewers.

  5. Use the Data. It is there for a reason. See which videos perform best and why. Do not leave anything up to chance and make yourself aware of why your videos perform how they do, via the numbers. E.g. the share count, the watch time or the retention rate.

As usual, I will finish my content by stating:

Everybody can go viral. You just have to learn how. Oh and stay consistent as well!
