Social Media Mastery - What is the best App to edit Social Media content? - Episode 17

Episode 17. I hope you had a fantastic weekend!!

As we’re creating more and more of these episodes, I’m continuously chatting to some of you to see what you’re looking for from this newsletter.

One question I received recently was:

What is the best app to edit social media content?

This is really fascinating, as I believe it truly depends on the type of content you create.

Just for reference as well, I have no associations with any of these brands or products - these are just genuinely the apps that help me reach millions of views every single day!

For short-form video content, with more of a professional look, I would suggest:

  • CapCut

  • Tiktok’s built in editor

  • Edits by Meta

  • Adobe

  • Descript

  • InShot

My personal suggestion would be start with Capcut or Tiktok’s built in editor, and then eventually move away if you feel you have outgrown them.

For more fun faceless content (e.g. meme content), I would suggest:

  • Canva

Done. Easily one of the greatest pieces of software to be created in the last decade. So simple to use, and it includes everything you need to make amazing, engaging content.

For longer-form content (e.g. YouTube videos or podcasts), I would suggest:

  • Adobe Premiere Pro

  • Final Cut

  • DaVinci Resolve

  • CapCut

Premiere Pro for me is the top dog here, but it isn’t free. CapCut is probably the best free option.

Finally, for high-end image content for your business or personal brand, I would suggest:

  • Canva

  • Adobe Photoshop

Both are great options. Canva is much more for basic images, but free for the most part. Photoshop is ideal for high-end visuals. AI tools could also be useful for images; however, I still believe, as of June 2025, they don’t do what I want them to do like these two pieces of software.

In conclusion, I believe the correct software is completely personal to everyone. However, anything by Adobe, Canva, or CapCut are my three favourites.
