Social Media Mastery - How to turn Views into Clients? - Episode 23

Episode 23. Let’s get back into it!

After my weekend at the Formula One, I am now back to posting on social media platforms, and hopefully going viral! 🙃

Recently, I was asked a critical question when it comes to social media content:

How do you turn your viewers into paying clients?

Potentially the hardest thing to do on socials?

It’s the reason most businesses post online, and yet it’s the one thing they struggle with the most. I personally believe it comes down to a few basic fundamentals, which you should definitely be following…

  1. Stay authentic. We all know that on social media authenticity is one of the main components of growth you can have, however what many don’t realise is that you can lose that authenticity in one bad move. This could be a bad brand deal, or a lousy product, but whatever it may be, ensure you do not do it! Nobody will buy anything from anyone that they do not trust.

  2. Be smart, not salesy. A call to action (cta) is your strongest asset, when trying to convert viewers to clients. However, you cannot over do it. Place your cta’s infrequently, but when you do, ensure they have a real purpose and fit. A bad example would be if you’re recording a baking video, and your call to action is telling someone to buy your new cryptocurrency. A good example could be a football video, where score a great goal, and point to your boots, and say something simple like ‘15% off in my bio’. Everyone understands it’s a product, but they won’t get annoyed by it.

  3. Wait for your time. There is nothing worse than somebody who tries to monetise their content as quickly as possible. It looks super disingenuous. Wait for the right moment and strike strategically.

  4. Make your viewers feel seen. Never make your audience feel like just customers. Engage with their comments and make them feel part of something massive.

  5. Track the data. I am a nerd who loves numbers. Don’t guess what is working, look at the data, and track trends. What type of cta’s brings more traffic to your website? There is an answer to that question, and if you don’t track data, you will be guessing the answer.

Overall, until it feels natural to generate revenue from your viewers, I would say it is probably too early. A natural progression for many viewers could be a funnel system that goes from Viewer → Newsletter → Webinar → 1:1 Call → Sale. Whatever your approach, make sure it comes from a place of helping your viewer – which, after all, should be your mission.

Make sure to subscribe, and remember - "Authenticity isn't about being perfect - it's about being real enough to be trusted."
