Social Media Mastery - How many times a week should you post? Episode 27

Episode 27. This one is fascinating

Hi again, and welcome back to SSM! This is the newsletter where I (Jacob Scott) try to make posting content online feel that bit easier 😅

Today’s topic is:

How many times per week should you post on social media?

This is tasty!

I’ve heard arguments over the past 12 months for both posting a lot and also posting less.

Let’s not waste any time.

This is my view:

You should post as much content as you possibly can – but – only if the amount you’re posting doesn’t harm the following variables…

  • The quality of the content

  • The level of consistency

  • How in-depth your analysis of the content is

The best creators find the perfect balance for this.

For example, The Sidemen post one “Sidemen Sunday” per week. If they were to post more, I believe the quality would drop, and it would be less sustainable for them long term. One post per week is, in my opinion, their maximum capacity without sacrificing any of the points above.

Another example is MrBeast, who tends to post around two videos per month. Any more and I believe the quality would suffer; any less and he probably wouldn’t maximise the growth opportunity he has. That balance is how he’s managed to reach 425 million subscribers (as of writing).

In conclusion – don’t post for the sake of posting. Find the frequency (daily / weekly / monthly / yearly) that works best for you, and stick to it. There’s no single “right” answer when it comes to content creation, so do what feels right. If it feels too easy, you’re probably not doing enough!

Make sure to subscribe, and remember - "Success doesn’t come from what you do occasionally, but from what you do consistently."
